Silk Road begins with thousands of Buddha statues standing at the Sanwei Mountain, the holy lignt illuminating the Grottoes, with the beautiful sceneries of Dunhuang Frescoes and the shower of flowers extending great blessings, all telling a touching story that happened long ago…
序 幕
唐代，絲綢路上，畫工神筆張父女救起了困倒在沙漠里的波斯商人伊努斯。又遇強(qiáng)人，為保護(hù)伊努斯，女兒英娘被搶。
Prelude
During the time of the Tang Dynasty, on the silk road, Shenbi Zhang, a painter,and his daughter Yingniang save Yunus, a dying Persian businessman, in the desert. Later Yingniang is taken by bandits while trying to Protect Yunus.
第一幕
數(shù)年之后，敦煌市場(chǎng)，絲綢相交,歌舞相望，神筆張終于找到了日夜思念的女兒。但英娘已淪為百戲班子的歌舞伎。伊努斯仗義疏財(cái)為英娘贖身，父女團(tuán)聚，故友重逢。
Act I
Several years later, Shenbi Zhang finds his daughter, who had become a geisha in a performance troupe, performing at the Dunhuang Market. Yunus pays a large amount of money to release Yingniang from the troupe, and a happy reunion begins for the family and friends.
第二幕
莫高窟中，神筆張按照女兒的舞姿畫出了敦煌壁畫的代表作——反彈琵琶伎樂天。為了不使女兒身陷火坑，神筆張讓英娘隨伊努斯出走波斯。市令罰他終身勞役，帶罪畫窟。
Act II
Back in the Mogao Grottoes and inspired by his daughter’s dance, Shenbi Zhang paints Joyful Apsarase Playing Reverse Pipa. To avoid persecution, Shenbi Zhang sends Yingniang away with Yunus to Persia. The mayor of the city becomes enraged and as punishment forces Shenbi Zhang to paint frescoes at the Mogao Grottoes for the rest of his life.
第三幕
英娘與波斯人民朝夕相處，如梭的光陰織下了深厚的友誼。伊努斯奉命使唐并帶英娘歸國(guó)，英娘捧美酒祭灑天地，告別親如故土的波斯。
Act III
The friendship between Yingniang and the Persian people deepens as time passes. Yunus is appointed as diplomat to the empire of Tang, and bring Yingniang back to her country. After worshiping the heaven and earth with wines, Yingniang was brought back to her homeland.
第四幕
畫窟中，神筆張彈琴思念女兒，夢(mèng)幻中父女團(tuán)聚神游于他所彩繪的天堂……突然琵琶弦斷驚醒沉夢(mèng)，預(yù)兆不祥，神筆張奮然急奔塞外陽(yáng)關(guān)……
Act IV
In the Mogao Grottoes, Shenbi Zhang was playing Pipa and thinking of his daughter. In his dream, he and Yingniang tour his paintings. Suddenly, one of the strings of Pipa breaks off. The fateful sign wakes him up from his dream and he rushes to the Yangguan Pass…
第五幕
陽(yáng)關(guān)外，烽燧下，市令唆使強(qiáng)人竇虎攔劫波斯商隊(duì)。為救伊努斯，神筆張點(diǎn)燃烽火。父女相見，卻生死訣別，一腔熱血灑在絲綢路上。神筆張舉筆問(wèn)蒼天，不朽之魂長(zhǎng)眠敦煌。
Act V
Under the beacon tower at Yangguan Pass, the bandit Hu Dou, abetted by the mayor, ambushes the Persian caravan. Shenbi Zhang lights the beacon fires to rescue Yunus. He is finally reunited with his daughter, but soon dies. His immortal soul is buried in Dunhuang.
第六幕
敦煌二十七國(guó)交誼會(huì)，節(jié)度使與各國(guó)來(lái)賓歡聚一堂。英娘化妝獻(xiàn)藝，陳訴了市令的罪狀。節(jié)度使憤然懲惡，剪除了絲綢路上的隱患。
Act VI
At the Friendship Alliance Party of 27 countries held in Dunhuang,Yingniang dresses up as a dance and accuses the mayor of his crime before the Governor and all the guests from different countries. The Governor punished the evil mayor and eliminates the potential danger on the Silk Road.
尾 聲
“絲路綿綿傳友誼,花雨繽紛舞彩虹?！?
愿中外人民的傳統(tǒng)友誼源遠(yuǎn)流長(zhǎng),綿延千秋。
Finale
Silk Road culminates with a rainbow adorned with flower blossoms representing the everlasting friendship between the Chinese people of various countries found along the Silk Road during Tang Dynasty.
